 Learning Support at Longfield

Welcome to the pupil learning support page. We are here to help you.

Every pupil no matter what their ability level or need can find individual and friendly help and support in LS1.
Attainment is monitored through all subjects and additional support given to any pupil who is not fulfilling their potential.  Pupils benefit from in class support with highly skilled teaching assistants, small group work both in lesson time and after school. Some pupils may be withdrawn from lessons to have an individual literacy, numeracy or speech and language programme with Mrs Beadle. Pupils who have been asked to attend will be given a pass to allow them out of lessons. Other pupils who feel would benefit from extra support using these programmes are able to come to LS1 and be supervised while using these programmes.
The aim is to enable every pupil to get the best from their time at Longfield and leave with the qualifications, skills and confidence to enjoy a prosperous future.

Some of the areas we can provide additional support are:
Literacy difficulties
Numeracy difficulties
Organisational, motivation, study and revision problems
Dyslexia
Autistic Spectrum Disorder
Dyspraxia
Behavioural problems
Emotional difficulties

All pupils can be assured that difficulties are dealt with in a discreet and confidential manner.
