About Our School
Longfield School is a good school with many outstanding features. Longfield became an Academy in 2011 and we have retained our specialist sports status. The school is popular and oversubscribed and we deliver an innovative and personalised curriculum for all learners.
Longfield has made outstanding progress since it was last inspected in March 2009.
In 2011 we achieved our best ever results – 94% of pupils gained a minimum of 5A*-C grades and our target for 2012 is 100%.
Results for 5A*-C including English and Math’s have risen every year and in 2011 60% of pupils achieved at least 5A*-C including English and Math’s.
The school has radically overhauled its curricular provision to promote more independent learning opportunities and has received national recognition as a centre for disciplined innovation.
Teaching and learning are a key strength of the school and lessons are consistently judged to be good or outstanding
Pupils can participate in a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular social and sporting activities.
The school is recognised as a Healthy school and became an International school again in 2011.
Longfield is recognised as providing a first class education and the majority of our pupils go on to study at further and higher education.
Longfield is a dynamic, hard working, supportive school. We are committed to providing opportunities for the personal and academic development of all our pupils and staff. We value the contribution that all pupils, staff and members of the wider community make to our school’s development.
